Our Facility

Located off of Wilson Blvd. in Golden Gate Estates, TikiGator Farm is settled on 5 acres at the edge of the Florida Everglades.  Due to the size of our property we have plenty of turnout for all of our horses, from individual paddocks behind the barn, to a large pasture out front.

Bordered by two canals, the farm features a large 225’ X 100’ hunter/jumper arena with a variety of jumps as well as footing (screenings) suitable for upper level jumping.  **There is excellent drainage both in the arena and around the entire property during the summer months!

A horse’s safety and happiness are #1 and #2 here at TikiGator Farm.

We strive to have a horse-friendly facility, as well as comfortable rooms for our equine tenants.  Our brand new barn, built in early 2007, was constructed on a solid concrete pad and consists of 12X12 fully matted stalls with automatic waterers.  There is an automatic misting system, as well as a fly system in each stall.  The barn was designed with the horse in mind.  Heavy gauge bullwire allows horses to see out from all sides, encourages increased airflow, yet provides a safe barrier between neighbors.  All stalls have individual adjoining paddocks, approximately 16’X60’, behind the barn.

We also try our best to provide our horses and our client’s horses with a safe living environment.  Our fencing consists of wire mesh fence on wood posts around the perimeter of the farm to prevent outsiders from coming onto the property.  The fences dividing the paddocks are hotwire, however only the safest highest quality fencing was used.  A special thank you to Julie, at Double J Fencing, for her help and advice on our purchase of Centaur Fence.

Centaur Fencing is similar to ordinary high-tensile electric fence wire, yet superior in quality and safety due to its horse-friendly co-polymer coating. If a horse ever got their head or leg thru the fence, it would not cut the horse like traditional wire, electric tape, and braided rope has been known to do.  The fence is also electrified to deter rubbing, leaning, and contact with other horses.  The fence is supported by T-posts.  Although there have been reports of horses sustaining injuries having been turned out in an area with the bare steel posts, we have done our research and found the makers of T-Sleeves.  A PVC sleeve that covers and caps the entire metal T-Post, not only providing the fence with a modern and professional appearance, but eliminating the possibility of injury due to a horse kicking, rolling near, or brushing against the bare metal T-post.  In the near future, we hope to have the entire cross fencing consist of Centaur Fencing for the security and safety of our horses, and the horses we board here at TiKiGator Farm.
